Bangor Custom Woodworks is a small, one person shop located in and serving Bangor, the center of Maine’s historical timber industry. I have been woodworking and studying fine furniture, whether as a hobby or professionally, for over fifteen years, beginning with my own dining set in 2008. My love of the craft began “helping” my dad to finish our basement into a family room when I was a young boy, and I continued to learn the art of woodworking from my dad and grandfather as I grew. After taking a detour through graduate school and working as a professor of literature and philosophy, I returned to my woodworking roots full time.

My passion for the craft of woodworking stems from a love of working with my hands, of shaping the beauty of one of nature’s greatest gifts, and of creating something that will last for generations.
